Margi Desmond
Born in Maine and raised in North Carolina, Margi Desmond began her writing career as a mere tot, writing stories about Freddie the Frog. As an adolescent she developed The Palingual Enquirer, a spoof on The National Enquirer, with a circulation of one. In her teenage years she worked as the editor of her high school newspaper, The Oracle, and columnist for the local newspaper, the Wilson Daily Times. She won both writing and photography awards from the National Journalism Association.
Margi studied journalism and literature at East Carolina University. She worked as a journalist for both the East Carolinian and the East Carolina Marauder while earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications.
Throughout the years, Margi has worked in the education, healthcare, banking, insurance, and automotive industries. These experiences gave her a plethora of hilarious story ideas.
Margi joined the Pikes Peak Writers and dedicated herself to writing full time in 2009. She is also a member of the Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and SiC Guppies. She earned a career diploma in Private Investigations in 2010 while conducting research for her first novel. 69 Flavors of Paranoia, published her short story "Customer Satisfaction" in Menu 13 on August 21, 2011.
Margi is currently working on her second novel.
